Description
The Allen Heath Xone 92 is the standard in the house and techno scene. Partly due to its iconic analog sound reproduction and unique equalizer, this mixer delivers the best sound that is beloved by DJs and enthusiasts of house and techno.
What is the sound quality of the Xone:92?
The Xone:92 has been known for decades for its fully analog signal path. By using the latest techniques and high-quality analog components, an iconic sound is produced.
What does the Allen Heath Xone 92 excel in?
The DJ mixer is equipped with an analog equalizer. This equalizer is capable of completely removing the high and low frequencies. Additionally, the equalizer has two mid-frequency controls. This gives you ultimate control over the tones to create the best transitions. Usually, a mixer has an equalizer with three knobs. Not this Allen Heath Xone 92 mixer. This mixer features a 4-band equalizer allowing for even more refined mixing. The four-band equalizer has two mid-frequency knobs with which you can fully adjust the sound to your liking.
How many channels does the mixer have?
As a DJ, you naturally want to have access to multiple channels. After all, mixing different records becomes difficult with just one channel. This mixer has 6 channels. Four of these channels can be fully operated with the extensive 4-band equalizer. The remaining two channels can be used as microphone channels or line inputs. These can also be adjusted with a 4-band equalizer where the frequencies can be adjusted up to about 15dB as desired.
Is the mixer equipped with a preamp?
The Xone:92 is equipped with a phono preamp. This preamp is optimized to get the best out of vinyl. This is done by using an RIAA curve which is specially made for techno and house music. It’s not surprising to see this mixer on a technical rider of a Techno DJ.
When using vinyl, it’s necessary to ground it properly. This Xone 92 has two ground adapters for this purpose. This ensures that you don’t hear any unpleasant noise in your mix. This way, you ensure optimal sound for the audience.
Is the Allen Heath Xone 92 mixer easy to operate?
The Xone:92 features UV printing, making the text on the mixer easily readable in a dark environment. Creating a dark space is often a requirement at various techno or house parties. This allows the DJ to easily find the right knobs. Additionally, the knobs are placed in a convenient location to ensure ergonomics.
How do I connect the Xone:92?
The Allen Heath Xone 92 mixer comes with a power cable. By plugging this into the socket, the mixer is powered. On the back of the player, you’ll find multiple input channels. These correspond with the faders on top of the mixer. Using an RCA cable, you can connect a digital or vinyl DJ player here. By using the XLR output on the back of the Xone:92, you can connect a sound system.
