This device is powered via the USB cable from the laptop. This means you don’t need an extra power outlet to supply power to this audio interface.
Which microphones can I connect to the Steinberg UR12 USB?
Almost any microphone that uses a 3-pin XLR cable can be connected to the Steinberg UR12 USB. Because the device is also equipped with a switch for turning phantom power on and off, it is also possible to use condenser microphones.
Can I record other audio devices besides microphones with the Steinberg UR12 USB?
In addition to the XLR input on the front, you’ll also find a 6.3mm jack input on the device. This allows you to connect instruments to this Steinberg UR12 as well. Furthermore, it’s possible to connect a mix from the on-site mixing console to the audio interface using a jack cable.
