Description
Are you producing a large event with a large number of lights that need to be controlled via DMX? Then you may need to create multiple DMX universes. This ELC Node converts the signal from the lighting console into 8 usable DMX universes.
What is a DMX Node?
As mentioned above, you may need to control multiple DMX universes. A DMX node converts a digital signal from the lighting console into 8 different DMX universes. Additionally, the node provides the ability to set up a DMX line from two directions. In case a connection between two lights unexpectedly fails, the ELC Node can provide data from the other direction.
What is a DMX universe?
For most lighting technicians, a DMX universe is a familiar term. A DMX universe consists of 512 DMX channels. These channels are intended for specific functions of the fixtures used. This ELC Node provides 8 DMX universes.
Which protocols are supported by the ELC Node?
Sending multiple DMX universes does not go over a single DMX cable. An ethernet cable is required to transmit the large amount of data. The DMX signal is converted into a protocol, such as sACN, Art-NET, or Shownet. This ELC Node can handle all three mentioned protocols.
How can I change the settings of the ELC node?
The various settings can be adjusted via the built-in TFT screen. You do this using a rotary/push button next to the screen. It is also possible to remotely configure this DMX node using ELC‘s special software.
