When using lighting during an event, it may be equipped with DMX. To make use of this, you need a light controller to control the lights. This 6-channel DMX controller is what you need.

What can I control with this light controller?

The Showtec SDC-6 DMX Controller has 6 DMX channels. This makes it possible to control simple lights. Lights that require a maximum of 6 DMX channels can be controlled with this compact controller. Think of a fresnel or a strobe, for example. The controller also has a master fader.

Additionally, the controller is very suitable for controlling special effects. The controller is suitable for controlling Sparkulars where you can determine the height of the fire fountain with the fader.

Does the controller need to be plugged into a power outlet?

The advantage of the Showtec SDC-6 is that it can be powered by a 9V battery. This means you don’t have to use the light controller with a power outlet. However, we do recommend this when using the controller during a show. This prevents the lighting control from unexpectedly failing. The power supply for the light controller is included.

How do I operate the light controller?

The Showtec SDC-6 DMX controller is easy to use. To turn on the controller, flip the switch on the back. Then connect the lights you will be using with DMX to the 3-pin XLR output on the back of the controller. To make the 6 channels available, slide the master fader up. The functions of the other 6 sliders (the channels) depend on the lights that are connected. Consult the manual of the respective lights for which functions are available and on which channels they are used.

My lights require more channels, do you have a solution for this?

As mentioned earlier, this controller only has 6 channels. Do you have DMX-controlled lights that require more than six channels to function properly? Then we recommend looking at another controller. For example, the Wolfmix W1 DMX controller is very suitable for this.
