How is the Astera QuikSpot used?

The internal battery ensures that these spots can be used completely wirelessly. You can connect them to the mains, but in many situations, it’s not necessary. In practice, it will often occur that the lamps are used without cables in their application. After all, it saves valuable time during the setup and breakdown of the event.

Basically, there are three common ways in which this Astera QuikSpot set is used.

To create the right atmosphere during an event or conference, uplighters are often placed along walls or near pillars. These lamps shine straight up and provide a colored glow over a large part of the wall or pillar. The QuickSpot is perfect for this use.

Do you want to create more atmosphere by attaching these spots to a truss, grid system, or hanging them to a beam above the audience? That’s also possible with these lamps. All necessary accessories to hang the lighting are included. These fixtures also excel as spots.

Because the lamps in this Astera QuikSpot set use fresnel lenses, unlike its predecessor the AX5, you can also use these spots excellently as fresnels for illuminating people or objects. With the included barndoors and internal RGBMA light source, you can set the light exactly as you want it.

How can I control the QuikSpot?

These spots come standard with an infrared remote control, which allows you to easily adjust the basic settings. This way, you can turn the lighting on or off and choose a fixed color in no time.

Which accessories are included in this set?

Thanks to the included bracket, you can effortlessly place the lamps as uplights on the ground – unfold, set down, ready. Want to attach the spots to a truss or pipe frame? Just fold in the legs and mount them easily. The bracket can also be removed with one click, making the housing slimmer and more subtle – ideal for representative settings where appearance matters.

Previously, to adjust the light beam, you needed ‘loose’ filters that you placed in front of the lamp’s lens. This is no longer necessary with the lamps in this Astera QuikSpot set. These fixtures feature a so-called fresnel lens with built-in zoom functionality. With this, you can adjust the light beam from 13 to 60 degrees and everything in between with a simple turn of the housing.

If you want to use these fixtures as fresnels, you can use the included barndoors. This allows you to ‘clip off’ the light beam. You essentially cut off the light beam, allowing you to very precisely determine where the light should and shouldn’t go. Ideal for illuminating people on a stage or an object in a specific spot.
