What is SDI cabling?

SDI stands for Serial Digital Interface. This is a type of cable that you often find in the professional broadcast and video technology industry. SDI is often used to bridge longer distances for connecting professional video technology. Think of a camera, LED screen or recording equipment. Many high-end equipment already has an SDI connection. However, consumer electronics often always have an HDMI connection. That is why the signal sometimes has to be converted using a video converter to be able to bridge longer distances.

What should I pay attention to when renting SDI cabling?

If not, you will need to use a video converter to be able to use the SDI cable. Also note that SDI cables are fragile.
