Up to how many people can use the conference phone?

The Yamaha YVC-1000 conference phone can be expanded step by step. With just the base station you can serve up to 5 people. However, you can add extension microphones (via extras on the product page). With each addition of an extension microphone, you can provide 4 to 5 extra people with sound and speech functionality. You can connect a maximum of 5 extra extension microphones to the base station.

Do I need special software for this conference phone?

No. This conference phone simply works as an external speaker and external microphone. So you can use it in any type of meeting software. Think for example of Skype, MS teams, Zoom, Webex or Google Meet.
