Description
Multifunctional tablet and transmitter package for Astera fixtures. This allows you to control the lamps both via the tablet and with a lighting console. The Astera ART7 AsteraBox CRMX is the interface between Astera fixtures and controller. The AsteraBox can be used as a wireless DMX transmitter with CRMX technology, but also works as an interface between the application and lighting. Of course, this interface, like the fixtures, is also equipped with a built-in battery. At Rental Supplier, the AsteraBox is always supplied with a tablet as standard. This means you are always ready to control the Astera lamps immediately.
What is an Astera ART7 AsteraBox?
The AsteraBox functions as a kind of ‘translation machine’ between the Astera fixtures and controller. The AsteraBox converts incoming signal into an RF signal (865 – 870 MHz), to which the lamps respond. The lamps also communicate back, allowing valuable information from the various fixtures to be read. The AsteraBox uses the 865 – 870 MHz band, which prevents many interferences. Many wireless transmitters function in the very crowded 2.4 GHz band. The lower frequency band also increases the range to 300 meters.
You can pair the AsteraBox via Bluetooth with the included tablet. Through the Astera application, it’s possible to operate the AsteraBox for up to 72 hours on a single battery charge. It’s also possible to connect the Astera ART7 AsteraBox to a lighting console. Using the included DMX adapter cable, you can use the Astera ART7 AsteraBox continuously for 16 hours as a wireless DMX transmitter.
What can you do with the Astera App?
Via the tablet, it’s possible to program and read complex programs with colours, effects, and settings. Through the application, it’s very easy to create groups, indicate positions, and program effects. Unlike control via DMX, the lamps remember and repeat these effects without requiring a constant wireless connection.
Through the application, it’s possible to keep a complete overview of the status and all settings of the lamps while operating them. View battery status, radio signal, DMX address, and which lamps are on/off. It’s even possible to be informed if the lamps are moved or switched off.
Via the tablet, it’s possible to set the desired DMX addresses and profiles for one or more lamps. This is also faster than doing it on the fixtures themselves. Through the application, you can set up about 50 fixtures within 5 minutes. After the event, you can very easily perform a master reset on the tablet, making all lamps immediately ready for the next show.
Can I also use the AsteraBox with wireless DMX?
The AsteraBox also works as a wireless DMX transmitter. For this, you simply connect the AsteraBox to the lighting console. With the included XLR adapter, it’s possible to transmit one DMX universe with LumenRadio CRMX technology or W-DMX from Wireless Solutions (up to G4S). The lighting from Astera supports both wireless DMX standards, allowing you to use them together with almost all other wireless lamps and transmitters.
What if the Astera ART7 AsteraBox is too technical for me?
Not experienced with lighting technology? You can give simple commands to the lamps with the included remote control. With this infrared remote control, you can very easily turn the lamps on/off, set the desired color, play pre-programmed programs, adjust speed and dimming.
