Description
When using cabling during an event, it’s almost unavoidable that cables run along the ground in some places. Of course, you want to ensure safety is always guaranteed during an event. With this cable bridge, you ensure that cables running on the ground pose no danger to your event visitors. Additionally, the cable bridge protects the cables themselves.
Why do I need a cable bridge?
First and foremost, you want to guarantee the safety of event visitors. When cables run across the floor, this can pose a risk without any protection. You could tape the cable to the ground, but this isn’t the solution for every situation. This cable cover is not only useful for ensuring safety. With all the rapid technological developments in the audiovisual sector, the value of cables is also increasing. When valuable and delicate cables are used, you want to protect them as well as possible. If the cable is damaged, it becomes unusable and loses its value entirely. You want to protect this well. This cable bridge is ideal for that purpose.
What are the characteristics of the cable bridge?
This cable cover has a length of 1 meter per section. Underneath the cable bridge is an opening 86 millimeters wide and 22 millimeters high to run cables through. You can use this space for about 8 schuko cables, 24 XLR/SDI/CAT cables, or a combination of the above such as 4 schuko, 4 SDI, 6 XLR, and 2 CAT cables. The cable bridge has a load capacity of 1500 kilos, which is sufficient to support the weight of a small car. It also immediately indicates that these cable bridges are not intended for heavy outdoor use at festivals. They are not suitable for heavy equipment such as forklifts, aerial work platforms, telehandlers, and trucks to drive over.
How do I place the cable bridge?
A single section of the Showtec cable cover has a length of 100 cm. To achieve a longer length, you can connect multiple sections. For this, it’s important that the surface is somewhat flat. The sections have teeth on one side. On the other side, you’ll find openings to place these teeth into. To place cables under the cable bridge, ensure that the cables first lie flat on the ground. Make sure the cables don’t overlap but lie next to each other.
At the start and end points of the cable, you can secure it with gaffa tape. Then lay the cable mats over the cables and click the loose parts together. It’s logical that the cable bridge is used on the ground and will get dirty during use. We deliver the cable bridge clean and would like to receive it back clean as well. If the cable bridges get dirty during the event, we recommend cleaning them before returning. This way, you avoid potential cleaning costs afterwards.
