How does the LED Wall work?

A complete LED wall is made with various small sections, called tiles. These LED tiles have a dimension of just 50 by 50 cm. This makes them perfect for transport, but they can also be perfectly assembled in various configurations. Creating the desired size or ratio is easier than ever with this. This LED wall is built from a total of 120 tiles. Of these, 20 are placed in width and 6 in height. This results in a format of 10 by 3 meters.

You can also find a smaller version of 6 x 3 meters with us. The dimensions are not leading. You can rather consider them as a kind of guideline. An LED wall is always custom work. The dimensions are determined based on the possibilities with the decor or the number of visitors during the event.

What is the distance between the pixels?

Besides the dimensions of the total screen, there is another factor that is important to make the LED wall fit well with the event. Unlike with a TV screen or video wall, you now also have to deal with the so-called ‘pixel pitch’. This pitch expresses the density of the independent pixels. In practice, this simply means the distance from the center of one pixel to the center of an adjacent pixel, expressed in millimeters.

A lower pitch thus means a smaller distance between the individual pixels. A higher pixel density and thus higher screen resolution. The result? A short viewing distance. This is an important characteristic, because the higher the resolution, the sharper and more detailed the content is displayed. This allows you to position the audience closer to the screen without them being able to distinguish individual pixels.

This LED wall has a pitch of 2.6. The individual pixels are thus 2.6 mm apart. This pixel density is very high and thus you can display content with very high details. The audience only needs to be positioned 3 meters from the screen to no longer be able to distinguish the individual pixels. Although a screen with a higher pixel density always provides improved visual quality, this is not always the ideal solution for every situation.

You mainly see an LED wall with a high pixel density at business events, where the audience sits close to the screen. At a greater viewing distance, such as when used on a large exhibition stand, this high pixel density loses its advantages and the costs are unnecessarily high. A screen with a larger pixel distance still delivers a quality image, but has a more attractive price.

Can I also rent an LED Wall in a different size?

In practice, this size of 10 by 3 meters will rarely occur. The use of an LED wall is always subject to customization. Adjusting the dimensions is therefore more the rule than the exception.
