The LD Systems Stinger 8A G3 active 8″ 2-way P.A. speaker is the speaker for small events. It can be used as a full range speaker, top above subwoofer or for speech applications. The amplifier is built-in and has practical and user-friendly presets.

What can I use this speaker for?

This speaker is excellent for use at a small event, whether it’s a party, presentation, or other event. The 8″ + 1″ combination has a sound level of 129 dB max SPL and 300 watts RMS. The amplifier is built-in, making the speaker plug & play ready.

Absolutely. Check out the complete sound systems in our rental shop. The LD Systems Stinger 8A G3 is part of the following sets: Full-range set with 2 speakers, a
combination with two top speakers and one subwoofer, and a combination with two top speakers and two subwoofers. Additionally, this speaker is the basis of our presentation sets.

What accessories do you have for this speaker?

The speaker comes with a power cable when rented. If you want to connect it to something and don’t have your own cables, rent an XLR signal cable as well. Other useful accessories for this speaker that you can add are: A speaker stand for placing the speaker at ear height or a flying bracket for installation on a truss system.

Which preset should I select on the speaker?

The LD Systems Stinger 8A G3 has multiple easy-to-use presets. You can use ‘full range’ if you’re using this speaker on its own. ‘Satellite’ if you’re using the speaker in combination with subwoofers, ‘monitor’ if it serves as an audio monitor, and ‘flat’ if you’re going to use the speaker only for speech applications.

Should I use line or mic as the setting on the speaker?

If you’re connecting the speaker to an audio mixer, DJ mixer, or other line input, you can set the speaker to ‘line’. If you’re plugging a microphone directly into the speaker, select ‘mic’. We always recommend using an audio mixer or DJ mixer.

How do I use this speaker and how do I connect it?

1. Position the LD Systems Stinger 8A G3 top speaker as you want to use it. Either as a top speaker or as a full range speaker. Place it on a speaker stand or intermediate pole (not included, see extras).

2. Connect the powerCON TRUE1 cable to the power connection of the speaker. Turn 90 degrees until you hear a ‘click’. Connect the other end to the power grid.

3. If you’re going to connect a microphone directly to the speaker (not included), connect the audio cable (not included) to the connection under the left knob. Select ‘mic’ for input.

4. If you’re going to use a DJ mixer, audio mixer, or other line source, connect the audio cable (not included) to the connection under the left knob. Select ‘line’ for input.

5. Connect the other end of your audio cable (not included) to your sound source.

6. Turn on the speaker and sound source and adjust the volume.

7. Select the appropriate preset based on how you’re using the speaker. Full range as standalone speaker, monitor as monitor, satellite as speaker above subwoofer, and flat for speech applications only.
