With the Mackie Thump Go 8″ battery speaker, you decide where the stage is. Thanks to its lightweight battery, this speaker is mobile and can be used anywhere. You can bring professional sound for a performance, speech, or background music, wherever and whenever you want. It doesn’t matter if you connect a guitar, microphone, DJ controller, or phone to the speaker, you can use any sound source right away.

How long is the battery life of this battery speaker?

In the most favorable situation, you have up to 12 hours of battery life with this speaker when fully charged. However, as with any battery, it depends on usage and external conditions (such as temperature). This 12 hours is calculated with soft sound reproduction under optimal conditions. If you use the speaker at full power, the battery life in reality is closer to 3 to 4 hours.

How does charging this battery speaker work?

When you rent this speaker, you’ll receive it fully charged. If you want to charge the speaker in between, you can do so with the included power cable. Connect it to the speaker and switch the speaker to fixed power mode. The great thing is that you can still fully use the speaker while charging. The battery indicator on the speaker shows how full the battery is.

What if I want more than one speaker for mobile sound?

Do you need more sound than one speaker but still want to remain mobile? Then we offer two different paths you can take. For the first option, you can rent multiple Thump Go 8″ battery speakers and connect them to each other via a cable between the speakers. You’ll find the XLR cable among the extras at the top of this page. Simply use the output of the speaker to which you’ve connected the sound source and connect it to the input of the additional speaker.

Another option is to choose an alternative system. This consists of a mobile battery pack and a sound system of your choice from our rental assortment. This is somewhat less mobile, as you need to lay cables between the battery pack and the sound system. But it gives you more freedom in choosing a sound system to your liking.

Which mode should I use?

Actually, the mode speaks for itself. These are tailored to the type of use. The speaker has different modules for: ‘Music’, ‘Speech’, ‘Monitor’, ‘Sub’, ‘Outdoor’. Choose the mode that applies to your use for optimal sound reproduction.

How do I connect my sound source to this battery speaker?

You can connect various sound sources to the Mackie Thump Go mobile battery speaker. For example, you can connect a microphone to channels 1 and 2 (not included, see extras). Or a signal cable that goes to an external sound source such as a DJ controller. If you’re using a microphone, press the ‘microphone’ button. If you’re connecting a pre-amplified sound source like a DJ mixer or DJ controller, select ‘line’. The speaker also has an aux line input.

Want to connect a keyboard or a guitar? No problem. Channels 1 and 2 are combination connections for both XLR and Jack plugs. Additionally, you can connect the speaker via Bluetooth to your phone for playing music. Use the volume knobs on the speaker to create a nice balance between, for example, the microphone and the music.
