The Yamaha YVC-1000 conference phone is a conference telephone with fantastic ease of use and optimal sound quality. Is it difficult to actually meet your conversation partner? Then a conference phone is the solution. With this, you can still hold meetings with your colleagues abroad. The YVC-1000 conference phone is a USB speakerphone and consists of a separate speaker and microphone.

A conference phone. How does it work?

The heart of the system is the laptop or phone that is connected to the conference phone. If a laptop is used, it can be connected with the provided USB cable. The laptop will automatically recognize the conference system and control the audio of the conversation through this system. The conference phone can be easily paired with a laptop, smartphone, and tablet via Bluetooth.

If you want to connect or add a person to the conversation, you can simply hold the smartphone within 4 cm of the speaker. The NFC technology of the conference phone will automatically establish a Bluetooth connection and add the person to the conversation.

Which platform can I use with this conference phone?

The platform of your choice. The conference phone works as an audio extension of your laptop. Your microphone and sound output run through the Yamaha YVC-1000 conference phone. This means you can choose which platform you use. Think of options like: Zoom, Webex, Lync, Skype, MS Teams, or Google Meet. The conference phone is therefore suitable for any application.

How is the sound quality and coverage of this Yamaha YVC-1000 conference phone?

You can trust Yamaha with sound quality. The base station of the conference phone features a proprietary auto-tuning function. This allows the conference phone to analyze the acoustics of the room and adjust its settings accordingly. This way, you are assured of an optimal sound experience at all times. The included omnidirectional microphone of the conference phone has a 360-degree coverage. It is therefore not necessary to sit on one side of the microphone. The sound is perfectly picked up all around.

This microphone also has Human Voice Activity Detection (HVAD). In practice, this means that voices can be distinguished from ambient noises. Filtering out disruptive background noises is a piece of cake with this. It’s handy to keep the audio of the conversation as ‘clean’ as possible.

Can this conference phone also be used for larger groups?

Absolutely. This Yamaha system is very easily scalable to the size of the room and the number of people present. The base station of the conference phone with the included external microphone is very suitable for small spaces and meetings of up to about 6 people. This only uses the base station and one external microphone. Compact and simple.

For larger groups of up to about 16 to 20 people, intelligibility is often problematic. The speakers are often too far away from the microphone, causing their voice to not be picked up well. As a result, they are often difficult to understand for the other party. Especially for these meetings, this conference phone system offers the possibility to expand the number of microphones to a maximum of 5 pieces. These extra microphones are very easy to connect to each other, allowing the voice to be picked up well over a much larger area.

Can I also use this Yamaha YMC-1000 for conference applications?

Especially for large groups, this conference phone has audio inputs and outputs. This allows you to integrate it with the sound system of, for example, the conference. This makes it possible for all guests to hear the audio of the other party through the ‘large’ sound system. Depending on the number of microphones in the room, you can independently determine which audio is sent to the other party. You can use the standard external microphones of the system for this, but this is usually not preferred. Through the audio input on the system, a completely separate ‘audio mix’ can be received via the control room. This creates complete freedom and in theory, you can use all existing microphones with this system.

For example, you can include the headset of the lead speaker, the handheld microphones of the panel, as well as the gooseneck microphones of the guests in the meeting. The possibilities are therefore endless. We do recommend discussing the desired setup with us prior to the event, so we can prepare the equipment accordingly.

How do I connect this product?

Ensure that the base station of the conference phone is powered. When using a laptop, you can connect the USB cable between the laptop and the conference phone.
