What light source does the SGM G-1 Beam wireless moving head have?

The SGM G-1 Beam is a compact moving head equipped with a powerful 40-watt LED source with a lifespan of 50,000 hours. It delivers 53,244 lux at a distance of 3 meters. Incredibly powerful for an LED fixture of this size. Unlike other moving heads in its segment, the SGM-G1 Beam can function in the rain without compromising its sharp light beam. This makes it a unique product. With its characteristic sharp light beam, gobos are displayed very clearly. The gobo pattern is therefore always clearly visible. All gobos can also be used with the so-called ‘shake effect’. The standard beam angle of 2.8 degrees can be made even smaller if needed. With the pseudo-zoom, you can go to a beam angle of 0.3 degrees.

What are the movement characteristics of this wireless moving head?

This wireless moving head has, in addition to very fast pan and tilt, also an endless pan movement option. This broadens the possibilities when programming the device. Additionally, the G-1 Beam has unique position pre-set programming. This allows up to nine internal pan/tilt presets to be programmed, which can be combined with eight internal standalone programs.

How do I control this wireless moving head?

The SGM G-1 Beam can be controlled in various ways. You can of course connect this moving head to the lighting console with a 5-pin DMX cable. However, this negates all the advantages of wireless convenience, so this will not be preferred. Via a lumen-radio transmitter, you can control the moving head wirelessly. You can use, for example, the Asterabox from our rental range for this. By connecting the Asterabox with, for example, the Wolfmix light control, even your control is completely wireless. This realizes the unique proposition of creating a light show without power or the use of cables. Ideal for the TV and film industry, for example, where a light show often needs to be produced quickly and in difficult locations. Is this SGM G-1 Beam wireless moving head waterproof?

A moving head with an IP65 classification is already quite unique. Operating on a battery makes the SGM G-1 Beam truly unique. The IP65 classification is due to the construction quality and a special internal air dehumidification technique. This does not allow small dust particles and moisture from outside to penetrate the moving head. This means that smoke fluid, dust, dirt, pollution, and humidity have no further consequences on the lifespan of the moving head. This also ensures that the internal optics and gobos no longer need to be cleaned. This makes this moving head ideal for long-term projects, outdoor use, or use in extreme conditions.

What is the battery life of this SGM G-1 Beam Wireless Moving Head?

The battery life is of course determined by the extent of use. If you use the lamp intensively, such as at a party or event, it’s good for 5 to 9 hours. If you use the moving head moderately (dimmed / few movements), it can last from 12 to 14 hours. Keep in mind that you fully charge the moving head before use. As a rental company, we do our utmost to always provide the moving heads fully charged. However, we recommend connecting it to the mains for a while before use. This way, you get the maximum out of the battery capacity. If you want to charge the moving head during the rental period, keep in mind that charging up to 75% takes between 8 – 12 hours and up to 100% between 12 – 16 hours.
