Just as the Titan Tube was developed to replace the Astera AX1 PixelTube, the Astera Helios Tube was introduced as a complement to the Titan Tube. Underneath, the Helios Tube is essentially a Titan Tube, but its length is halved. In this Pelicase, you’ll find a complete set of 8 neatly packaged Astera Helios Tubes including all accessories. This gives you everything you need for event or film lighting right away. The modern-day replacement for Kino Flo.

Can the Helios Tube be used for film shoots?

These Helios Tubes offer exceptionally accurate reproduction of all light colors. Thanks to the advanced combination of different LED types, colours that were previously impossible can now be displayed. Combined with the impressively high colour fidelity, these tubes are particularly suitable for use during film, video, and studio recordings.

How can I change the settings of the Astera Helios Tube?

As a gaffer, it’s common to adjust the setup or change the film lighting. It’s frustrating when cables always get caught on something. Unlike the commonly used Kino Flo lighting, the Helios Tubes work completely wirelessly. This applies to both power supply and control.

With the built-in battery, each Helios Tube can work for up to 20 hours consecutively, which is more than sufficient for most film sets and video shoots. Additionally, the Helios Tubes are equipped with a special ‘boost’ mode, where the LED tubes shine extra brightly. This is ideal when a lot of light is needed for a specific scene or take. However, in this mode, the battery only lasts for 2 hours.

Each Helios Tube set comes standard with a simple infrared remote control. This is ideal for a gaffer to quickly set a fixed color, such as red, blue, warm white, or cool white. However, if you want to get the most out of these LED tubes, adding an AsteraBox is a must. With the AsteraBox and the accompanying tablet, you can create fully customized programs, colours, and scenes. Want to know more? How can I charge the Helios Tubes?

The Astera Helios Tube set comes in a specially designed transport case. This case not only provides a safe way to transport the tubes but also allows you to recharge them. Are the tubes empty after a long day of shooting? Up to 8 tubes can be fully charged simultaneously in this case in just 3 hours.

What does the Astera Helios Tube set consist of?

In the transport case, you’ll find 8 Helios Tubes, neatly stored and ready for use. The case is equipped with a handy powerbox that allows you to easily charge the lamps. But that’s not all – this powerbox also offers the possibility to control the LED tubes via DMX using signal/data cables. Working with larger installations? You can also opt for artNET or sACN.

Are you using a mode that requires many DMX channels? Then the Datalink comes in handy. With this, you can control two full DMX universes through the same powerbox. Note: the Datalink is not included in the standard set but can be rented separately.

The set also comes with all mounting materials to use the Astera Helios Tubes in various constructions.
