Can the TitanTube be used for film recordings?

These TitanTubes have an incredibly precise rendering of all light colours. Underneath, this LED tube uses different types of LEDs, which can create colours that were previously not possible. Together with the exceptionally high colour fidelity, this tube is extremely suitable for use as lighting in film, video, and studio recordings.

How can I change the settings of the Astera TitanTube?

As a gaffer, changing the setup or adjusting the film lighting is a common occurrence. It’s therefore frustrating that cables always tend to get caught on something. Unlike widely used Kino Flo lighting, the TitanTubes function completely wirelessly. This applies to both power supply and control.

On the built-in battery, each TitanTube can function continuously for up to 20 hours. This is more than sufficient for most film sets and video recordings. These TitanTubes also have a special ‘boost’ mode. In this mode, the LED tubes shine very brightly. Ideal when a lot of film light is needed for a particular scene or take. In this mode, the battery lasts for only 2 hours.

Each TitanTube set comes standard with a simple infrared remote control. This is perfect for a gaffer to use for setting a fixed colour, such as red, blue, warm white, or cool white. How can I charge the TitanTubes?

This Astera TitanTube set comes in a specially equipped transport case. In this case, you can safely transport the tubes, but also provide them with a new battery charge. Are the tubes empty after a long recording day? In this case, you can fully recharge 8 tubes simultaneously in just 3 hours.

What does the Astera TitanTube set consist of?

In the transport case, you’ll find 8 TitanTubes. Additionally, the case is equipped with the powerbox. With this, you can charge the lamps. This is not the only function of the powerbox. It’s also possible to use it for wired control of the LED tubes. This can be done via DMX or, in larger installations, through artNET or sACN. When you use the TitanTube in a mode that requires many channels, it’s sometimes necessary to use the Datalink. This way, you can send 2 DMX universes of data, but still power the tubes with the same powerbox. The Datalink is not part of the set and can be rented separately.

The set also comes with all mounting materials to use the Astera TitanTubes in various constructions.
