What is a camera riser?

A camera riser is a platform on which a camera and/or camera operator stands. A camera is often placed behind or among the audience. To ensure that the camera has a clear view of the stage, an elevation is required. This elevation is called a camera riser.

Is a camera riser easy to set up take down?

Yes, absolutely. A camera elevation is essentially a small stage. This makes it easy and quick to set up take down, even without any prior experience.

Why are a camera operator and a camera never on the same platform?

A camera is always placed on its own platform separate from the camera operator. This is done to prevent any vibrations that a camera operator might transfer to the platform they’re standing on from being transmitted to the camera. This ensures that the image is always sharp and all desired information remains readable.

What height of camera elevation do I need?

Generally, the height of the camera elevation is determined by the height of the stage. This is to ensure that filming is never done at an angle. This ensures the correct representation of speakers on screen. For a stage at a height of 40 centimeters, it is therefore advisable to place the camera elevation also at a height of 40 centimeters.

How do I set up a camera riser?

Take the stage piece and slide the stage legs into the designated holders on the underside of the deck. Secure them with the clamp attached to the holder. Turn the stage piece over and the riser platform is ready. If you’ve chosen the version with carpet and finishing, stick the double-sided tape 10cm from the edge on top of the platform. Place the carpet tiles on this. Click the Velcro profiles to the sides of the stage piece and then attach the stage skirt to the riser using Velcro.
