Description
What exactly is a video wall? It’s essentially a collaboration of multiple TV screens. Instead of each screen displaying the full content, in this situation, each screen takes on a portion of the content. All screens together display the complete video or image, creating a very large screen. Such a format is impossible to achieve with a single TV screen.
What does this video wall consist of?
This large screen is built from no less than 16 screens. This creates a setup of 4 screens wide and 4 screens high. The aspect ratio remains unchanged and will be 16:9, just like a normal screen. Do you have 16 TV screens yourself and think you can make a video wall? Unfortunately, that won’t work. Not only do all screens need to be completely identical, but they also need to have a sufficiently powerful processor. The video signal is looped from screen to screen. Based on the settings on the respective screen, it displays a certain part of the content. This is how a very large total image is created.
These screens also have a very thin border. It’s only 5.2 mm thick, so the screens in the video wall are not separated by a thick border. This can be perceived as disruptive. This video wall with a 4 x 4 configuration ultimately gives a screen diagonal of no less than 467 cm.
How can the video wall be placed?
A video wall is a very good and affordable option for trade shows and workshops. If you don’t mind the edges of the screens, this is the solution. Compared to projection – which is also suitable for displaying large images – the screen is not affected by disruptive light incidence and reflections from all the lighting at trade shows. Compared to an LED wall, a video wall has a much more pleasant price.
The placement of a video wall can be done in different ways. At a trade show, it is often attached to a stand wall. The frame – to which the screens are hung – is simply fastened with screws to the wooden wall. It is important to ensure that this wall is sturdy enough to support the video wall. If mounting to a wall at your trade show stand is not possible or you want to use the video wall during a workshop? Then it can also be placed on a tripod. You can place this anywhere, without being dependent on the possibilities at the location.
How does the control of the video wall work?
Due to the sensitivity of the TV screens, we always recommend having the installation carried out by our technicians. This way, you can be sure that the video wall is installed correctly and safely, and no damage can occur due to improper handling of the material. A laptop is required to control the video wall. We always recommend renting one with it. Essential software is installed on our laptops to control the screens.
In case the power unexpectedly goes out at the trade show stand or the power is turned off at night? No worries. All settings are of course retained. When the power supply is turned on, the video wall will automatically start up and the specified video will immediately begin playing. You don’t have to do anything for this. Very convenient.
